1. Information We Collect

ClayScout collects and processes the following categories of information:

Publicly Available Tournament Data. We aggregate scores, placements, and competition records from official sanctioning bodies including the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA), National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA), and Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP). This data is publicly available through these organizations' published results.

Account Information. When you create an account or claim an athlete profile, we collect your email address, name, and any verification information you provide.

Profile Information. Athletes who claim their profiles may optionally provide additional information such as a bio, profile photo, social media handles, and highlight video links.

Usage Data. We automatically collect standard usage data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps to improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

3. Information Sharing

ClayScout is a public recruiting platform. Athlete profiles, including names, states, graduation years, tournament scores, and star ratings, are publicly visible by design — this is core to our mission of helping athletes get discovered by college coaches.

We do not sell personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

Service Providers. Third-party services that help us operate the platform (hosting, analytics, email delivery), bound by confidentiality agreements.

Legal Requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

4. Athlete Rights

Athletes and their legal guardians have the following rights regarding their data on ClayScout:

Access. You may request a copy of all data we hold about you by contacting us.

Correction. If you find errors in your scores or profile data, contact us and we will verify and correct the information with the relevant sanctioning body.

Profile Claiming. Athletes can claim their profiles to add personal details and manage their public-facing information.

Deletion. You may request removal of your profile from ClayScout. Note that we aggregate publicly available tournament results; removed profiles may be re-created from public data in future imports unless you specifically opt out.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@clayscoutusa.com.

5. COPPA Compliance

ClayScout takes the privacy of minors seriously. Our platform displays publicly available tournament results for athletes of all ages, consistent with how sanctioning bodies publish this information.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Account creation and profile claiming require users to be at least 13 years old, or to have a parent or legal guardian complete the process on their behalf.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at info@clayscoutusa.com and we will promptly address the situation.

6. Cookies & Tracking

ClayScout uses essential cookies required for the platform to function, including authentication session cookies. We use analytics to understand platform usage patterns.

We do not use advertising cookies or trackers. We do not participate in cross-site tracking or sell data to advertisers.
